Button attaching with back button On certain garments a backing button is required to be sewn behind the fabric. On leather jackets this button is to provide strength to the attachment of the front button as without this, the stitching would soon pull through the leather. On other garments such as raincoats, the backing button is either used to attach a cold weather lining or simply as a design feature. Whatever the reason for incorporating bakking buttons the actual process has normally been carried out by hand stitching the two buttons on together. Hand stitching is a skilled operation which is slow and produces unreliable results in terms of visual quality and actual button security due to poor knot tying.
BAT 15 Back buttons attacher The BAT 15 has been developed to enable button and backing button attachment to become a simple and fast process. This operation has normally been carried out by hand or using very complex slow machinery. The BAT 15 is based on a Juki MB1800 electronic chainstitch sewing head. A backing button plate is fitted that enables this button to be inserted prior to sewing. This plate can be exchanged in seconds to enable attachment of a different sized backing button. Another feature of the BAT 15 is the simple shank height adjustment. Turning a thumb screw will increase or decrease the length of the button shank.
Features The BAT 15 will run at a speed of up to 1800 stitches per minute therefore attachment is less than 2 seconds. Soft start and slower stitching can be programmed for reliable sewing onto difficult materials. As the BAT 15 is fully electronic the stitch pattern can be simply changed by selecting a different program.
